Olivia Cappuccini is a British documentary filmmaker renowned for her compelling storytelling and intimate portrayal of her subjects. With a background in journalism, she founded Scenes of Reason, a platform initially aimed at decoding complex political topics for first-time voters through educational videos. 

In 2016, Cappuccini directed "The Haystack", a crowdfunded short documentary exploring surveillance in the UK. This project highlighted her ability to tackle pressing societal issues with depth and clarity garnering the recognition and promotion from Edward Snowden himself. 

Her most notable work, "Andy Murray: Resurfacing" (2019) produced by John Battsek (Ventureland), offers an in-depth look into tennis champion Andy Murray's battle with injury and his journey back to professional sports. Cappuccini's shooting style and direction provided an unprecedented glimpse into Murray's personal and professional struggles, earning critical acclaim and becoming one of Amazon Prime's most successful sports documentaries.

In 2024, backed by Universal Studios and produced by Misfits Entertainment, Variety annouced that Cappuccini would shoot and direct "Love & Rage: Munroe Bergdorf", a documentary focusing on model and transgender activist Munroe Bergdorf. This film underscores her dedication to highlighting diverse narratives and social activism. Olivia continued to push the form blending scripted movie moments shot on film, with news archive and fly on the wall footage traversing both past and present. "Love&Rage" is set to premiere as a headliner at the SXSW film festival in London, June 2025. 

Unknowingly, Olivia appears to focus on subjects that are considered "outsiders," and has become known for being able to strike the balance in unearthing their rawest emotions with "nuance and sensitivity" whilst elevating their depictions into a world of first class cinematography that the world has come to expect.
